When and where is the wedding?
Our wedding will take place June 15 at Mountain View Grand in Whitefield, NH.
I thought the wedding was in Italy — what changed?
Italy was our dream location, and we had planned a symbolic ceremony there. However, to prioritize involvement from our families, we decided to hold our official wedding closer to home so our loved ones could be part of it. We're now getting married at the beautiful Mountain View Grand in New Hampshire and will still hold a party in Italy for those who wish to join us.
Do I need to book accommodations?
Mountain View Grand offers rooms onsite and we negotiated special rates for our guests.
To book through our room block, call the hotel directly and tell them you're with the Ackerman wedding event. Our room rate is valid from Friday, 6/13 through Monday, 6/16.
Room rate: $249
Booking deadline: May 16, 2025
Do I need transportation to/from Mountain View?
No - once you're there, you're there. Our welcome party, wedding, and reception all take place on property.
When is the RSVP deadline?
We kindly ask for RSVP responses by April 30.
Is there a welcome party at Mountain View?
Yes! Expect good food, relaxed vibes, and a chance to connect before the big day. Visit the Home page for a full outline of the event schedule. You can RSVP for the Mountain View welcome party, Mountain View wedding, Italy welcome party, and Italy wedding celebration party individually.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our team of professional photographers will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards.
Where is the reception?
The reception is at the same venue as the ceremony: Mountain View Grand, only a few steps away from the ceremony location. No transportation is necessary.
What's happening in Italy now?
We prioritized family participation over all else for our wedding day. The Italy celebration is now a party - we will not host a wedding there. We still invite you to join us for the festivities!
Will there be a wedding in Italy?
No, there will not be a wedding in Italy. The Italian celebration is now a big party. The wedding will take place at Mountain View Grand.
What is the dress code?
Cocktail attire. We recommend elegant and comfortable outfits suitable for an outdoor setting. Please don't wear white.
Is there an open bar?
Yes! Arrive thirsty!
What kind of drinks do they offer in Italy?
The venue has a full bar for any cocktails, plus a selection of Italian wines, prosecco, and champagne. Beer is less common in Italy - they stock one kind at the bar - Peroni. We're working with them to offer a wider selection of beers :)
What's on the menu?
Dinner will be gala style and you’ll be served multiple courses at your seat. We have a variety of options that cater to different dietary restrictions. You'll be prompted to make your menu choices as part of the RSVP process.
Are children allowed at the Italy celebration?
While we love your little ones, this is an adults-only celebration.
Will transportation be provided to the venue on the celebration day?
Because our guests are scattered around Sorrento, the logistics of shuttle service are very difficult. Please plan transportation to/from Villa Antiche Mura. Taxis are plentiful and easy to get.
Is the celebration indoors or outdoors?
Villa Antiche Mura offers a flowy space with both indoor and outdoor options. The two intertwine as the walls of the covered space open completely. Our dinner and reception are outdoors, but under cover.
Should I tip the staff in Italy?
No, please do not tip. Italians do not operate under the same tipping culture as we do in the US. Tipping is not common. Lauren and Ryan are handling gratuity separately.
Should we bring gifts?
Your presence is the best gift we could ask for. Do not feel obligated to get us a gift.
If you insist, you can check out the link to our registry in the top navigation. The registry allows you to send something to us directly. This prevents you and us from lugging something to Italy and back.
Are there any group events planned?
Outside of the welcome party and wedding celebration party, we do not have group events planned. We encourage you to get out and explore the area!

What airport should I fly to?
Naples is the closest. Rome is another option. There's more detail on the airports in the Travel section of our site.
What airline should we fly?
This is subjective and depends where you're flying from. Lauren and Ryan's favorites include Delta, Swiss Air, Lufthansa and ITA Airways. It's ultimately up to you and what you like.
Ryan does not like Aer Lingus, but only because they lost his luggage for six months.
TAP Portugal is usually a low-priced carrier. Be careful, the surcharges quickly add up. It's similar to an international Spirit airlines.
Where is everyone staying?
Our guests are staying at a variety of local hotels, Airbnbs, and other rentals. You can find more on our recommendations on the Lodging page. If you want to coordinate specifically with someone, we suggest reaching out to them and teaming up. Lauren and Ryan are staying in Sorrento.
How'd you pick Sorrento?
Lauren spent a year living in Florence, Italy and Ryan visited Sorrento in 2022. They both love Italian culture, pace of life, food, and wine. They couldn't think of a better place to celebrate their lives together, and they're excited to bring their closest family and friends along for the ride.
